   Our last week of summer camp was Horse Camp for fourth, sixth, and seventh graders. Out of all the camps at JBRC Horse Camp is one of my favorites. Because of the limited number of campers {usually around 20} the week is much more personal and intimate. It's a good chance to really get to know some of the campers rather that only seeing them for an hour or two. It's neat to see the same

      I made these brownies last Sunday for the camp staff dinner. They were really good. A nice crisp outside with a soft warm inside.       Pictures like this make me just plain happy. It reminds me so much of when I was younger and me and my older brother used to do things like this. Only we got much dirtier. Mamma eventually quit trying to keep us clean.  Personally, I think all that dirt did us good. At the least it gave us many hours of fun and lots of fond memories.

     Our roses have been blooming prolifically this spring. Since I really enjoy having fresh flowers inside, I picked some of them and made a mixed bouquet.       I've been told that it hardly ever rains here in Arizona, but for some reason it has hardly stopped since we got here on Saturday. Today, it finally cleared enough for us to do a little sight seeing. We drove around some and I got my major impression of Arizona : CACTUS.    Some time last fall, a photographer friend of mine was telling me about how he started using this lens. He had been having it for a long time and never used it. It's the same lens I've seen many photographers use: The 50mm prime. He told me how wonderful the lens was, and how he was learning so much by using it.
